Biography :

Kangana Ranaut (born in Bhambla, Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh, India) is an Indian actress who appears in Bollywood movies. Ranaut's father is a businessman and her mother is a school teacher. Ranaut has an elder sister named Rangoli who survived an acid attack in late 2006. She is said to be dating an unknown man whom she met in South Africa.

Kangana moved to Mumbai to try her luck in movies. She was unsuccessful for quite a while, until she received the offer for Mahesh Bhatt's 2006 film Gangster. The film was critically and commercially successful, her performance was especially applauded. This was followed by another acclaimed performance in Woh Lamhe (2006). Kangana later starred in the hit film Life In A... Metro as a confused girl who is looking for a real love and in Shakalaka Boom Boom (2007) as an aspiring singer. Kangana was announced as heroine of Jeeva's forthcoming Tamil venture, Dhaam Dhoom on February 19, 2007. She has at present, a current offer to star in an US based film entitled "Between the Night and the Moon"(2009). She is to play a character named Zoon and is a romantic film lightly based on Romeo and Juliet. Set in Kashmir and Miami, Florida. Directed by Italian Director Gilda Pianelli.
